Our Top 10 Geocaches of 2021

2021 has been another turbulent year for us all, as the pandemic continued to affect so many aspects of our lives.

Whilst we sadly missed out on holidays and caching trips overseas this year, our staycations and many journeys to towns and cities across the UK yielded lots of brilliant geocache finds. We discovered so many great caches. But which were the best?….

After much debate we agreed upon our top 10 caches of 2021 - those we found the most fun, inventive and memorable.

Here they are:

1. Simon Says (Dalham Fun & Games 5). (Traditional, Dalham, Suffolk) CO: GeoJosh2010.

2. South Lakes Webcam Coniston. (Webcam, Coniston, Cumbria) CO: Flipflopnick.

10. Random Route #10 - It’s safe to say. (Traditional, Brandon, Suffolk) CO: Crazytom2001uk.

With so many great caches out there, it was once again difficult to decide on our top 10, so here are those that just missed out...

12. Coniston Old Man. (Traditional, Coniston, Cumbria) CO: Fellsmanhiker.

18. The Fanciers Fancy. (Traditional, Leiston, Suffolk) CO: Suffolkexplorer.

19. “John Kettley is a weatherman”. (Mystery, Brinkley, Cambs) CO: DespairTrap adopted by Team Tong).

20. Councillor CB Ross. (Mystery, Windermere, Cumbria) CO: Duncscott.

And the two that didn’t quite make the top 20, but both were so great, we just had to mention them aswell…

21. #5 Five villages in Suffolk. (Traditional, Shimpling, Suffolk) CO: Campan51.

22. Vacancy. (Mystery, Downham Market, Norfolk) CO: Teampod.

A big thank you to all of these COs for the huge amount of work and effort that went into creating and maintaining these caches.

All of them helped give us some happy memories of 2021, and enabled us to escape the 24 hour Covid news cycle…well for a little while at least!

Thank you all so much :-)
